A Greater Tragedy Than Dunblaneby Thelma JenkinsEvery person in their right mind has been shocked, horrified and deeply grieved at the cruel and senseless killing of the young children in Dunblane. The heart of everyone with right feeling has shared in the horror and heartache of the parents. It does not seem that there could be anything more terrible or more grievous - yet there is. These little children have been killed in their bodies - but thousands and thousands of children in our land are being exposed, every day and every week, to far more terrible dangers which will lead to the eternal loss of their souls. Neither parents nor teachers encourage them to seek after God, but after money and never-ending pleasures, through lottery and bingo, television and sport; evil and immoral teaching is being suggested for the youngest children in our schools and no-one speaks out to protect them; their minds are filled with the vague theories of evolution instead of the great facts of God and His creation. These and many other evil trends of our day (such as drug-taking and promiscuity) are leading to an even greater and more far-reaching tragedy than that which fills all our minds at the moment. There is no hope and no protection for our young children in this evil society but in God and His Word the Bible, and the salvation which he offers in the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who neglect or ignore these things are laying up for themselves, in the coming years, an even greater sorrow than is being endured by the parents of Dunblane.
